“Form is the three-dimensional counterpart to shape. Shape is to form as a square is to a cube. Form is shape with dimension or volume.”~Others
Rectangular forms, in different weights are used as base elements of the typeface.
By playing with these elements the illusion of depth is infered and some light & dark forms begin to present themselves
The angles 120º and 60º not used in the same order or placements throughout the typeface as other fonts.
monospace parameters allow the stem to be the same weight when used as a diagonal or horizontal stem.
The numbers used for the stems outline and the inset enhance the vision of the illusion shapes and its dimensions.
I wanted to create that sense of illusion through the angles and different sizes. I think it has a strong graphic nature and maybe the message is a bit elusive!
Experimenting with inversion
While the typace looks strong black on white, It does appear that the white on black has more presence and contrast.
Taking the idea of illusion and reality to the screen seems like a given, after all, many illusions come from such realms. The intention was to experiment with elements in html/css/javascript which have properties related to animation or illusion &reality.
ILLUSION.ioI would love comments on how I can improve illusion the typeface, as well as any feedback on presenting it. FI-NI-TO
